Through financial assistance from the European Union, the UP DNA Analysis Laboratory will be offering training/workshops next year on the forensic applications of DNA analysis. This is in accordance with the laboratory's aim of assisting in the fair and swift administration of justice by promoting the use of DNA analysis as an objective tool for human identification, e.g. true perpetrators of a crime, fathers in paternity disputes and mass disaster victims. The training courses will run for 5 days on the following proposed schedules:
1. February 2003 for members of local law enforcement agencies; and
2. August 2003 for Forensic DNA analysts in Asia.
